Hair and Jewelry for all Dancers

Hair is to be in a bun for Grade 1 Ballet and up. For all other classes a ponytail is required. Short hair should be secured off the face. No jewelry in class. This includes long earing’s and bracelets. We recommend teenage female students wear a sports bra under their uniform and male dancers wear a dance belt.

If preferred, male students are welcome to wear the female uniform and female students are welcome to wear the male uniform. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Some spots are still open! Volunteer child minders are needed for our upcoming recital. All volunteers are required to obtain a vulnerable sector check with the OPP. Volunteers will be provided a promo code for 2 free tickets for their efforts. Learn about specific roles, schedules and shifts via the Parent Portal under the tab "Volunteer".

The Dance Workshop is very excited to announce we are now a registered affiliate studio and member of the DanceStep program. Offered in partnership with studio teachers, DanceStep empowers students to take care of others and guides them to be leaders and role models. The program covers assistant teaching skills such as behaviour management, different learning needs and styles, Safe Dance Principles and Anatomy to name just a few. These concepts are broken down to be taught in a sequential and age appropriate way to children from ten or eleven years of age. It's McHappy Day! We encourage everyone to go out to McDonald's and grab a meal before dance class tonight. A portion of all proceeds raised today go to support Ronald McDonald House and Ronald McDonald Family Rooms. Our connection to McHappy Day..... My husband Nathan and I stayed first in a RMH family room and then at RMH Toronto for 35 days in 2019 while our daughter Mara was in critical care at SickKids. We were provided with accommodations, food, even clothing. Whatever we needed RMH and its wonderful staff went above beyond to help us. Most importantly they gave us a place footsteps away from SickKids so we could be close to Mara. Today Mara is 4.5 years old and doing well. Luckily she doesn't remember when Mom and Dad stayed at RMH but we will never forget the kindness we received.❤#rmhtoronto #mchappyday #sickkidshospital
